In my last newsletter, I announced the opening of my new online bookstore which is an entirely different website that was in the making for almost two months. I am now taking complete control over my books and earnings by establishing this store, and as readers I wholeheartedly encourage you to buy direct from me (at least for the most part) going forward. Many of my books are already listed and the remaining ones that are still in KU will be added to the store before the end of this year. Why this step for me is so important: I have been publishing on Amazon for ten years. If Amazon decides one day that I went against their terms of service (unbeknownst to me) and decides to take down all of my books, I wouldn’t be lost, completely devastated, feeling hopeless not knowing what in the world my next step is going to be. This exact thing has happened to other authors and inside, my heart ached for them as writing books and selling them – for many of us – is our bread and butter. I would never want to be in that position and I cannot say that I didn’t wonder how I would make it if I were. With that said, I encourage you to buy directly from my store whenever possible and the benefit to you is that you will be able to get much better discounts than I could provide being exclusive to Amazon. Also, as is the issue with Kindle Countdown Deals, discounts from my store will not be exclusive only to the U.S. and U.K. stores. Reader from other countries will be able to take advantage of the discounts I apply to my books from time to time. In the coming weeks, paperback versions of my books will be added to the store as well and pre-orders will again be set up.
